You Can Use This Common Household Item For More Than Just Drying Your Hair: These Five Hair Dryer Hacks Will Blow Your Mind!

Do you have a hairdryer at home? Well, if you do, it’s quite handy, isn’t it? You don’t have to go to the salon and spend money whenever you want stylish hair every day. But aside from its main purpose, hairdryers can also help us with other things around the house. We’re sure you never thought of using your hairdryer for something more than just drying hair, but this nifty tool is useful for resourceful people out there. Once you have read this article you will be thanking us for knowing these hacks which can come handy at any time in our lives. So, without further ado, here are a few life hacks using a hairdryer!

Clean Your Laptop Keyboard

Those who spend long hours on their laptops will know that we can’t help but eat in front of our computers even though it’s highly not recommended. As a result, bits and pieces of food crumbs get in the crevices of our keyboards. What’s even worse is if we spill our plate of food on the keyboard which means food under the keys. If you don’t want to spoil your laptop, the best way to clean it up is by using your dryer. Say goodbye to those pesky crumbs, and even if you have spilled liquid, the heat from the hairdryer will dry it up in a jiffy.

Iron Your Clothes

Are you in a hurry but you can’t be bothered to take out the ironing board to smooth out the wrinkles in your shirt? To save you some valuable time, pull out your hairdryer instead! Put your clothes on a hanger and lightly spray some water on it. And then blow dry them with your dryer. See the wrinkles vanish right away. Don’t forget to dry them on your maximum heat mode for the best results.

Take Off Stickers

Stickers can get quite messy when they do not come off easily. If you have kids at home, you will know how terrifying it is to leave them alone with a sheet of stickers. They will probably put stickers all around the house including your favorite piece of furniture. Granted, some stickers are easy to remove, but there are other more stubborn ones that are a nightmare to remove. To solve this, go to your vanity cabinet and take out your handy-dandy hairdryer and try this little hack! First, blow dry them with your dryer for a while and try peeling afterward. The heat will soften the adhesive, making it easier to peel off the sticker. It is also applicable for dresses or t-shirts with price tag stickers on them.

Remove Wax

Wax drippings are terribly tough to remove because they harden. Imagine wax drippings on your beautiful glass top coffee table? If you try to remove them, your glass might get scratched in the process. So what is the best thing to do? Use your hairdryer. Blow it over the wax until it starts melting. Wipe it carefully and thoroughly; you can go over the area once more in case you failed to remove all of the wax from the surface. The same goes for crayons. Kids live in a world of their own. And often, they want to show their creativity on furniture, walls, and other surfaces. Try using the dryer on those marks. Since they are made of wax, they might melt as well and then you can wipe them clean.

Stretch Your Shoes

Often, we go to discounted stores and find a pair of shoes from our favorite designers — imagine the joy? But what if it is not in your size and is a size smaller? Hairdryers to the rescue! Heat the insides of your shoe by setting the hair dryer to its hottest. Once done, don’t let it cool off, instead pull on socks and wear your shoes. Walk around in them till they cool down. The socks stretch the shoes but the heat holds the shoe together. However, this method works best for leather shoes. So, next time there is a shoe sale, you can easily pick up a size smaller!

It’s important to be resourceful in solving daily dilemmas; sometimes, even the unlikeliest of things will help you resolve your problem.
