In short, just be yourself and do the best you can without overthinking your self-image and what your workers might think about you. It’s okay to be disliked a little bit as long as things are working out as opposed to being a doormat and having the company in a state of anarchy and no proper direction.
Not Taking Advice From Your Subordinates
Yes, you’re the head of the brand. You’re probably also smarter than most people working under you, but by no means does this mean that you get to make all the decisions by yourself. Well, you could, but that’s usually a one-way ticket to failure for your whole venture which might, in a worst case scenario, put you in debt. First off, you end up looking like a dictator, and that’s something you should never want for your company. Your workers will feel like they’re not truly a part of the team, and you’ll go downwards after that. Secondly, you’re going to be missing out on some killer advice. Remember you may be intelligent, but you’re not perfect. There’s a lot that could be added to your knowledge, and a whole lot of perspective that you don’t have. Set aside time to listen to your employees because they may provide various perspectives on certain aspects that you may not have even thought of.
