Here’s How Celebrities Feel After Achieving Fame & Fortune

Though the luxurious lifestyles of celebrities leave us cross-eyed and envious, the recent confessions of several A-listers have made us understand that fame and fortune can often mean nothing if we are not connected to our lives and if we do not love ourselves. The world is in constant pursuit of happiness, and yet in the name of happiness, all we do is go after money and fame. Some of the biggest celebrities have proved that money is not everything we need. Here are some of those who have realized this and are leading a better life today.

Lindsay Lohan

The little girl who impressed us with her performance in the movie Parent Trap got introduced to the world of glamor and glitz quite early in life. Yet having millions as her net worth didn’t quite make her happy. Years of substance abuse and addiction issues tainted her life and career. She did have a great life on the surface – partying every night, enjoying the fame and adulation, buying big houses and cars, and yet there was no happiness deep inside. She has cleaned up her act considerably and is leading a low-key life right now, going after her passions and learning new things. Her career is not what it used to be, but she seems to be content with what she has now.

Lady Gaga

Despite earning millions with every project, Lady Gaga has always been quite open about her mental health. Back in 2016, she told her fans that fame and fortune don’t make us happy. This is exactly what she said, “I have traveled the world and seen the happiest people in the poorest parts of the world. Their values are intact. In the richest homes, I meet the saddest and most depressed people. With this album [Joanne] I wanted to remind the whole world and my fans that the most important things are love and kindness. Kindness is what will create harmony, not celebrity and not fame.” This is very true and the fact that she has realized this shows how mature she is already. It will definitely help her reach greater heights in life.

Natalie Imbruglia

The stunning pop singer who enchanted the world with her album Torn, Natalie became the golden girl in the world of music during the peak of her career. But nobody knew about her mental health at that time. She was suffering from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) which made her so anxious all the time that she couldn’t even leave her house. So apparently, all her money and fame couldn’t give her what she really needed – the feeling of security. She later confessed that all the fame and recognition she got from the release of Torn made her feel like she has to live up to the expectations of the people around her. That made her incredibly anxious. Over the years, she has been able to be better and is more content with her life now than before. May we add that she looks as ravishing as before though!

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf is an actor and filmmaker who has always spoken against celebrities being in the public eye all the time. He even took to social media and announced his plans to quit it all as it attacked his artistic integrity. His life was plagued by various controversies which must have made him take that decision. Thankfully, he did not quit completely and even appeared in movies after his announcement. It is good though that he understands the importance of not being bothered about all the things that were being said about him in the public forums. He enjoys his newfound privacy these days.

The last year was an eye-opener for several celebrities. After the suicide of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, it was quite clear that many of them lead a double life where they seem to be happy and doing well on the surface and yet are crumbling down inside. It is good that some celebs have used their fame to raise awareness regarding mental health. This has encouraged fans to do the same. It is about time we understand that mental health is as important as physical health, and we must take care of both in order to live a long and healthy life.
