Meghan Markle Eats this $40 Superfood Every Day for Breakfast–Think It’s Worth the Price?

It’s no secret that Meghan Markle lives a healthy lifestyle. This means she tries to as active as possible and only eats the healthiest of foods.

But as you may already know, keeping up with this kind of lifestyle can get expensive, especially when you rely on exotic superfoods that aren’t easily accessible. Markle herself spends $40 a week on this one ingredient she eats every day with her breakfast.

Favorite Superfood

Her superfood of choice is acai, a berry that’s grown in South America. So, what exactly sets this popular fruit from others?

Well, as it turns out, acai just so happens to be loaded with a lot of good-for-you nutrients like antioxidants, heart-healthy fats, and fiber. There are also claims that the berry also has weight loss and cancer-fighting benefits.

It’s no wonder the Duchess swears by the fruit and is even willing to spend up to $40 a week just for it. She likes using acai for her breakfast bowl, which is comprised of coconuts flakes, fresh fruit, and the superfood.

Healthy Eater

Markle’s healthy habits were in place long before she met and married Prince Harry. She documented and shared her lifestyle on her now-defunct blog ‘The Tig’.

There she talked about her yoga practice, travels, and clean recipes. The 39-year-old former actress kept ran the blog even while she was starring in the legal drama ‘Suits’.

Other healthy practices Markle swears by include drinking green juice as well as a glass of warm water with lemon. That said, it wouldn’t have been far off if Markle pursued a career as a lifestyle guru had she not married into the British royal family.

Spending Habits

Unfortunately, a less admirable habit seemed to have followed Markle into married life. Throughout her time in the spotlight as the Duchess of Sussex, the royal has been criticized for her spending habits.

For example, she and Prince Harry were called out for spending $3 million in taxpayer money to renovate their former home, Frogmore Cottage. They’ve also recently purchased an even more expensive home, an almost $15 million mansion in Montecito, California.

Although the couple reportedly got a mortgage to pay for the place, some critics are expressing doubts about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s ability to achieve the kind of financial independence they dream of away from the royal family.
