Celebrities often earn millions, yet some of them can give away millions to the causes they believe in at the drop of their hat. Fame indeed leads to fortune, and more fortune creates more power. And most celebs use their influence and power for good causes.

Some raise funds for the organization, and some may give away their time, possession, and money. And some of them do all of these and more. Here we will mention some of the most powerful celebs who have donated millions of dollars to multiple organizations and many causes.

Will and Jada Smith

This Hollywood power couple focuses have dedicatedly come forward and went on to help many supporting families and improve their lives.

Apart from the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation (the foundation focuses on arts and education, social empowerment, and sustainability), they have helped the cause of various organizations and schools in their hometowns of Philadelphia and Baltimore.

The couple believes in charity but does not do it with a lot of pomp and show. They donated $1,300,000 to several charities in 2008 and $900,000 in 2011.

Rory McIlroy

Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy made an initiative through his The Rory Foundation, giving away £1 million ($1.5m) to a local children’s cancer charity in 2014. It did not stop him from unleashing his generous streak, as in 2016, through Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open on behalf of his foundation. He raised more than $544k for three children’s charities.

After winning the competition, he donated $724k of his prize money to charity. McIlroy has also been donating to $349k Mencap Northern Ireland in 2015, helping children with learning disabilities. However, the Rory Foundation closed down in 2018. He is now following his philanthropic pursuits away from the prying eyes of the media.

Naomi Campbell

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has a generous streak to her. Not many know about this aspect of hers. Her Fashion For Relief campaign, which she found way back in 2005, has been doing exemplary work for various humanitarian crises from the Ebola outbreak, Hurricane Katrina, and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Her organization has raised $15 million supporting various causes across the world.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift, the pop diva, has been tapping into her generous instincts from a young age. She was even given the title of the most generous star way back in 2012 after giving away almost $4 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. They even created a Taylor Swift Education Center in her honor.

It wasn’t the only time we got a sneak peek of her generous side. The singer, $30k, thought of gifting an 18-year-old in the UK who found it tough to fund her university fees. She even parted with her millions to help people struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, she gave away  $50,000 (£36k) to the GoFundMe campaign to a Tennessee woman(with five children) who lost her husband to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Eva Longoria

The former Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria is part of numerous charities. The star has received dozens of awards for her charitable work in the Hispanic communities. She completely believes in her charity, the Eva Longoria Foundation, and the causes she supports. She has been empowering Latinas, helping them get an education also helping them with starting a business venture.

Longoria has continued pursuing her philanthropic pursuits, especially helping Latinas who have been affected by the ongoing pandemic. Her organization has been lending more than $1.95 million in loans to Latina entrepreneurs. She has also contributed to STEM education or mentoring schemes to as many as 3,700 people. Besides that, she also set up Momento Latino, a movement that has helped people suffering from various health issues, finances, and education within the Latinx community.

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock has always served people whenever disaster struck and donated $1 million to the American Red Cross after 9/11 and $1 million after Hurricanes Harvey and Katrina.

She contributed $1 million to the Doctors Without Borders after the earthquake in Haiti. Besides that, she also donated to Japan’s 2011 earthquake and tsunami and contributed close to $1 million. She has also made steady contributions, $500,000 to the Red Cross and the Humane Society of Ventura County in California. (firefighting relief).
