Here Are Five Healthy Alternative Drinks To Make Your Morning Routine Better

Hydrating our body as soon as we wake up is an absolute necessity. We’ve probably heard this piece of advice hundreds of times before — that a glass of water first thing in the morning is better than anything else in the morning because it helps flush out all kinds of toxins from the body and aids in proper hydration since we have been without water for almost six to seven hours. So what do you do once you have your glass of water? Have your morning cuppa while sitting at your favorite corner and listening to some soothing music? Yes, but there is a twist. Drinking hot tea or coffee with an empty stomach will not do any good to your body and in fact, can harm you, too. Also for some people, it is not possible to drink a bland glass or two or of water right after waking up. So this is what you do – make your morning more interesting. Here are some natural and extremely healthy drinks that will do wonders to you if you have them with an empty stomach first thing in the morning.

Lemon And Honey Water

This is perhaps the most popular morning drink for many people across the world. All you need is some lukewarm water, half of a lemon, and a spoonful of honey. Squeeze half of the lemon, mix the juice with water, and add some honey for sweetness. This is an age-old drink that helps remove toxins from the body. It also helps in improving the immune system and kickstart the body’s metabolism. Many people also have this drink in order to melt fat and lose weight. It is a no-fuss beverage and helps you have your daily dose of vitamin C, too! For some extra zing and more nutrients, you can add ginger to your drink if you’re up for it!

Coconut Water

The all-natural coconut water is another great morning drink. The best part is you don’t even have to make any preparations for this. If you have access to fresh coconut, then that’s the best way to drink this, but if you don’t, supermarkets do offer organic coconut water — just be sure to read the ingredients and avoid the ones with added sugar or preservatives. This yummy drink can be great for those who are suffering from a bloated stomach. It also gives a boost to your metabolism, so those who are trying to lose weight, this is your drink!

Apple Cider Vinegar

It is no secret anymore that apple cider vinegar has tons of benefits if we use it properly. In the morning, mix one spoonful of apple cider vinegar to a glass of lukewarm water. Add a pinch of cinnamon and a spoonful of honey to it and stir well. This concoction is not just good for losing a bit of weight, but also improves digestion, lowers bad cholesterol, and balances the pH of the skin. The cinnamon and the honey gives you extra energy early in the morning. Hence, this is a great drink before doing a range of activities like exercising, going for a walk, or biking.

Cumin Water

If you love the flavor of cumin, you might like this drink a lot. If you didn’t know, cumin helps the body in many ways. It reduces indigestion and gas bloating, and cuts down on the fatty cells.  It is also good for maintaining blood sugar levels, therefore reducing our craving for carbs and keeping us fit. Bring a cup of water to a boil along with a spoonful of cumin seeds. After letting it rest for ten minutes, your cumin tea is ready!

Carom Seed Water

Just like cumin seeds, carom seeds are very good for your body. However, they might not taste as good as cumin seeds. It smells like thyme, and that’s because both of these contain a certain essential oil called thymol. All you need is two spoonful of dry roasted carom seeds, and soak them in a cup of water overnight. Next morning, you can drink that water and enjoy its benefits which includes reducing flatulence and bloating as well as aiding in weight loss.

So now you know that there are better alternatives to tea, coffee, or juice in the morning. You can still have them though, along with your breakfast. Just try any of these drinks for a few months and see the difference!
