Rich Dogs of Instagram: The Proof That Some Dogs Live Better Than Humans
If you are a frequent user of Instagram, then surely you already heard about The Rich Kids Of Instagram. It features how typical trust fund baby lives their everyday life. You will see their diamond-encrusted accessories, champagne popping photos, private yachts are posted daily. When you are living in the lap of luxury, it’s not hard to see that every day is insanely epic.
Now there is a parody Instagram account for their wealthy dog equivalents, too. Kaylin Pound started the Rich Dogs of Instagram. She is a writer for Elite Daily and it all started when she wrote a story about Romanian Instagrammers that poked fun at the Rich Kids Of Instagram by recreating several of their photos.
Then she searched if there is an existing account for making a parody account with dogs. To her surprise, no one had done it before so she decided to make The Rich Dogs of Instagram account. The page claims, “These dogs have more money than you and this is what they do.” So we can see now dogs behind the wheel of Ferraris, dogs wearing luxury watches, mutt-manis and paw-pedis, dogs with diamond collars, pups on private jets and yachts, and dogs literally rolling in cash.
At first, Pound was featuring photos of dogs appearing to live exorbitant lifestyles. She just collected photos she found on Instagram. However, for a short period of time, she accumulated thousands of followers and currently gains another 1,000 every day. Now, there are several users that are submitting photos to be posted in the parody account.
Since the parody account gained so much press attention in such a short time, she decided to do something useful about it. Pound teamed up with Posh Pets Rescue in NYC to help spread the message about giving back to dogs that aren’t as fortunate as The Rich Dogs of Instagram.
While most of these dogs are blessed in living a luxurious life due to their owners, there are also dogs that are not fortunate enough. Some dogs were abandoned and even abused by their owners. Thus, there are a huge number of dogs that are living in animal shelters. Animal lover or not, there are several reasons why you should help and adopt a pet.
-
Save a life
Every year, around 2.7 million cats and dogs were euthanized in the U.S. This happens due to a limited number of animal shelters that can cater to their needs. Furthermore, people usually buy pets from pet stores rather than adopting one. So if you want to have your own pet, you should consider adopting one because you will be able to save a life.
-
It will cost less
If you want to have a pet, you need to consider expenses for their food and special care like vaccines, microchipping, and spay or neuter. Pets that are adopted from the animal shelter have an adoption price that also included some of their special needs. This will definitely help you save from some of the upfront costs of getting a pet for your family.
-
You help fight puppy mills
In most cases, pets that are bought from online shops and flea market are from puppy mills. A puppy mill is where dogs were bred without any care for them. The main goal of the owners is to gain profit while the dogs suffer from living in a poor condition with improper medical care. If more people decide to adopt pets from the animal shelter, there will be fewer customers for these puppy mills and it can be stopped.
-
Security and companionship
Pets from animal shelters are already housetrained so it is not difficult to take care of them. Moreover, animals are special because they give companionship to us, especially if you are living alone. In addition, they can help provide security in case criminals are lurking outside your home. They can easily alert you if someone is trying to break in. In return, you are able to also give your pets with security and companionship by providing them a place that they can call home.
-
You help other animals
The adoption fee that you pay for your pet is used by the animal shelter to provide the needs of the remaining animals in their care. Note that some of these animal shelters are not funded by the government and solely rely on donations. So whenever people adopt, they also help other animals in return.
