You’ve Been Sleeping Through The Golden Part Of Your Day! Here’s Why You Should Be Up Before the Sun

We’ve all been there – when that alarm clock rings and suddenly you find that your bed is the most comfortable it’s been all night. Or when you feel like you can start tomorrow, and that tomorrow never really comes. Or when you decided that you are simply a night owl, preferring to work at night rather than the early hours of the morning.

Productivity

If you feel like you don’t have enough hours in the day to finish all hat you have to do, waking up at 5 am could be the answer you’ve been looking for. It feels as though you are carving out hours of the day yourself when you do it this way, and you may find that even though you felt all along that you work better t night, the quietness of the wee hours of the morning may be the still that you are looking for to be productive. There’s nothing like the quietest moment of the day to tickle your creativity. Once you get over being grumpy for having to get up, f course!

Discipline

Harboring a sense of discipline is a fantastic feeling. Once you conquer the art of waking early, you will feel a sense of achievement and you will find that getting out of bed at 5 am is the first mental accomplishment of your day. It isn’t exaggerating when we describe that for some, getting out of bed at 5 am may even feel like torture. But this is the very point of doing it. The harder it is to do, the greater the sense of achievement when you get it right. Any well-disciplined person will tell you that discipline is the very root of all good habits. When your motivation is asleep, discipline will be alive

Head Start

There’s something special about being awake when the world is asleep. Watching the night slowly merge into the day is an experience that has no words to describe it. What you do in the morning won’t make a difference to the sense of satisfaction that you will enjoy at simply being awake, whether you are using that time of the day to engage n meditation, reading, exercising or simply to nurse a cup of coffee as you watch the sun rise. Starting off your day with a relaxed note will set the tone for the day and you will find that it is a far better tone than when you roll out of bed and shoot into the shower, throw on your clothes and attack your to-do list.

So now you know why you should do it, you have to learn how to do it. Getting up at 5 am is simply a matter of doing it! There’s no more to it. The best way to make sure you accomplish this simple but nearly impossible task is to simply jump out of bed when the alarm sounds! The moment you give your brain a chance to consider why you are doing it, your mind will talk you out of doing it! Discipline is when you make a decision and stick to it, so don’t leave room for doubts! It may also be better for your system if you worked yourself into the routine gradually rather than diving into the deep end. Get up about half an hour earlier each day until you reach your target.

With all of this said and done, there needs to be a word on sleep as well. If you aren’t getting the appropriate 7-8 hours of sleep each night, then waking up at 5 am isn’t going to be beneficial to you. There’s no point having an early start if it is going to render you useless for the rest of the day! There will be days when life will push you to be awake past midnight, and that’s when you are expected to push your alarm forward to compensate for it!

So go ahead and make waking up early your goal. You don’t even need to decide just yet what you will be doing with your morning time – so long as you set your mind to it and get it done! The rest will follow.
