Here’s How These Hollywood Stars Celebrated Their 21st Birthday
While Hollywood celebrates almost every occasion with great pomp and show, their coming-of-age parties are definitely special. Gigi Hadid, for instance, had a party with close friends when she turned 21 in 2016. Kendall Jenner, on the other hand, wore a $9000 dress adorned with Swarovski crystals. Ariana Grande headed to the happiest place on earth to bid adieu to her teenage years. Taylor Swift was an exception though as she preferred to celebrate it quietly with her family. Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rihanna all had quiet celebrations, and none of their parties were splashed on Page 3.
One of the biggest parties was thrown by Harry Styles of One Direction when he turned 21. It was a star-studded affair attended by Hollywood’s biggest who’s who. Miley Cyrus got a special expensive gift from father Billy Ray Cyrus on the occasion of her 21st birthday – a $24,000 motorcycle! These celebs do have the wealth to splurge on their special day, and most of them prefer to go all out to host the biggest party of the year. Let’s find out how these other celebrities spent their birthdays:
Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber not only got to party all night in Las Vegas but got paid for it, too! Yes, the well-known singer was paid $500,000 for attending the grand opening of Omnia – a club in Caesar’s Place which used to be a nightclub till then. It had a gala opening with a 3-night celebration. Bieber happened to have his birthday the first night, and he had arrived just after midnight. The celebrations took off right away as he started pouring shots for his friends. He had a huge cake shaped like a 65 Black Lincoln to boot. Bieber being Bieber turned the numbers on his cake from 21 to 12 and spent the rest of his night partying really hard! We don’t know what happened at that time apart from lots of dancing and popping bottles. What happens in Vegas does stay in Vegas after all!
Paris Hilton
The millionaire heiress to the Hilton hotel industry rang in her 21st birthday in style. Back in 2002, she made the record for having five parties in total for her birthday. She spent a fortune; after all, turning 21 doesn’t happen every day. For someone as rich as her, it was easy to host five parties anyway. Her guests traveled from London, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. A staggering $75,000 was spent on each guest as they went around the globe attending events. In case, you are wondering who attended her party, let us give you a few names – Donald Trump and P. Diddy were just some of them! Of course, her own family was there, too.
Prince William
It is hard to imagine the royals as fun-loving, but the truth is, who doesn’t want to have fun with friends and family on their special day? Prince William is no exception. When he turned 21 in 2003, he planned to have an African-themed party at the Windsor. Apparently, he wanted to see his much-serious family wearing something other than black tie and white shirts. His present wife, Kate, was also present at the party, though right before the party, he had told the press he was still single. So was his rumored ex, Jecca Craig!
Jaden Smith
Though most celebrities prefer to have big parties at expensive places and invite their famous friends, Jaden Smith proved to be an exception. Will Smith’s son is mostly known for his fashion statements. He has also been appearing in music videos and movies since he was a young boy. Hence, he is no stranger to the world of glitz and glamor. But instead of following his peers, he did something totally different on his 21st birthday. He shared photos and videos on his Instagram profile about how he fed homeless people free vegan food on his birthday. He said, “The I Love You restaurant is a movement that is all about giving people what they deserve; healthy, vegan food for free. Today we launched our first one-day food truck pop-up in Downtown LA. Keep a look out, because this is the first of many.”
Clearly, Jaden Smith’s style is our favorite. Quite a mature decision on his part. However, that doesn’t mean that they can’t have a party or enjoy their coming of age. To each his own, after all. But we’re still inspired with Jaden’s move to help others on his birthday. Hope he inspired you, too!
